Job Description
This department head position creates a group fitness environment that meets the diversified needs of our Membership. The Athletic Director is responsible for hiring, training and development of all Group Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Massage Therapists and the Front Desk staff.
The Athletic Director implements strategies that ensure attainment of the Athletic Department financial and service goals, to include commissioned employees’ compensation structures, athletics programming as well as Member/new Member initial consultations.
The Athletic Director is an advocate and ambassador of STAR Service and understanding the critical role that Membership plays in regards to the success of the operation.
Job Requirements
• BS in Health, Fitness or Sports-Related field.
• ACSM, ACE or similar certification.
• Three years experience as an assistant AD, group fitness coordinator or equivalent.
• Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills.
• Solid understanding of athletic revenue generation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of expense control as it relates to service payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expenses.
• Strong technical literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and guests.
(Internal candidates should be Athletic Director STAR Certified.)
