The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) has a need for an Associate Director - Aquatics & Member Services
Job Purpose:
Oversee the overall organization, administration and management of the Campus Recreation Aquatic and Member Services areas. This includes Aquatic facilities, staff, activities, special events and Member Service operations and staff. Responsible for setting area and employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making data driven decisions.
Major Responsibilities:
• Supervise, evaluate, and direct all aspects of the Department's aquatic programs to provide safe programs and facilities.
• Manage the aquatic and Member Service portions of the Campus Recreation budget to include forecasting, monitoring, and allocating. Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of aquatics program equipment and supplies, to include all aquatic related facility renewal projects.
• Oversee the scheduling of all aquatic facilities to ensure all user groups (Internal and External) receive adequate and appropriate use. Serve as the primary contact to groups holding events in the aquatic center, and CRC program directors using the pool for various activities.
• Oversee the development of annual aquatics program goals, learning outcomes, the appropriate assessment tools, and an annual calendar of aquatic programs/events (non-credit classes, special events and programs) designed to bring people in the aquatic center and maximize usage of all pools. Develop a plan for phasing in new aquatic programs and events. Develop a non-credit aquatics program aimed at maximizing use of the aquatic centers and generating revenue.
• Develop, implement and evaluate risk management policies and procedures for aquatics programs and spaces. Work with the Aquatics staff to ensure facility preparedness and adequate lifeguard and pool operator staffing for programs and events.
• Actively recruit national/local level events, which have revenue generating, and positive public relations potential. Liaison with the Georgia Tech Athletic Association (Swimming and Diving). Coordinate preparation for major aquatic events and assist with event management as needed.
• Supervise, evaluate, and direct all aspects of the Department's Member Service areas to provide outstanding customer service.
• Oversee the Assistant Director of Member Services and Staff Development in the development of annual goals, initiatives and services to increase the overall membership and provide professional development opportunities to the staff.
• Work with the Sr. Director to develop and implement department wide strategies and initiatives.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Additional Information:Act as one of the essential personnel for CRC in emergencies. Ability to lift 50lbs. Must be comfortable with heights and small spaces. Some evening and weekend hours required.

Impact & Influence:This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Sr Dir-CRC, National Governing Bodies, other CRC team members, outside vendors, clubs, sports participants, members and partners. This position typically will advise and counsel: Sr Dir-CRC, members, potential members. This position will supervise: Aquatics and Member Services staff.
Basic Qualifications:
• Education:Master's degree in Education, Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work Experience:Minimum 6 years of experience developing and delivering a comprehensive aquatics program.
• Certifications:Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, STAR or Ellis and Associate Instructor certification. (If Red Cross or STAR, must get Ellis and Associate certification within a mutually agreed upon time frame) Current Aquatic Facility Operator Certification.
• Skills:Utilize strategic planning, conceptualization, critical thinking, independent judgment, problem solving, creativity, initiative, vision and innovation to ensure quality in all areas of responsibility. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Strong communication and customer service skills. Have a working knowledge of electronic timing systems, Hy-Tek Meet Management software, scoreboard software.
