Johnson County Community College seeks an experienced leader to lead its athletic department. The role of the Assistant Dean/Athletic Director is to administer and direct all aspects of the Athletic Department at JCCC. Responsibilities to include scheduling of all practices, games, and travel. Coordinate facility use by JCCC and community. Ensure all compliance and reporting are accurate and submitted. Develop and explore fundraising opportunities. Cultivate partnerships with community organizations. Supervise office and all coaches.
JCCC participates in the Jayhawk Conference and Region 6 at the NJCAA level. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in the areas of program management, facility planning, community partnerships and fundraising.
Job Objectives:
Provide leadership in athletic and facility administration - Oversee all budget and finance operations
Operational evaluation - Provide reviews of all staff operations and personnel
Compliance - Meet all Title IX, KJCCC, and NJCAA guidelines. Submit EADA report
Sports Management - Approve all team competitions, practice schedules, travel, scholarship management, and game day management
• Accredited Master’s degree in Sport Administration or related field
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and administrative abilities in regards to eligibility, Title IX, communication (written and verbal), budgeting, supervision, marketing and fundraising
• A commitment to the community college mission
• At least five years of experience in collegiate athletic environment
Preferred:
• At least five years of experience in collegiate athletics as an administrator
• At least five years of successful collegiate coaching
• Experience in the community college setting, community college coaching and/or athletic administration
• Technology experience in athletic database programs, Banner, and Microsoft Office
