UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and American Athletic Conference (The American) member, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director / Director, Facilities Management.
Under the direction of the Associate A.D., Facilities Development and Capital Projects, the selected candidate assists in the day-to-day management of the Athletics' Facilities and Operations department within UCF, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: daily oversight of UCF athletic facilities preservation; facilitation and monitor of University’s work order system; service as liaise to University’s Facilities Operations unit in organization and implementation of preventative maintenance and repairs where appropriate; performance of regular facilities inspections; daily oversight of janitorial sub-contractor as well as other vendors / outside contractors in the performance of tasks as needed by internal units; management and maintenance of internal systems (fire, plumbing, hvac, etc.) to ensure they are operating optimally and efficiently; daily oversight of seasonal and on-going preparations for game day operations and external events; and assists in event management responsibilities, which includes being game administrator for select events. Due to nature of position, responsibilities may include manual labor and familiarity with different tools to perform various repairs / maintenance so to expedite results.
Minimum qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and seven years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational or technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Prefer a master’s degree and experience within facilities and events management within intercollegiate athletics; experience working with related vendors / constituencies; and experience managing budgets / timelines. Strong problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills within a progressive and team oriented environment also preferred.
