BACKGROUND
The Dallas Wings are a professional basketball team based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, playing in the Western Conference in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Relocated from Tulsa following the 2015 season, the team will play its home games in College Park Center, a state-of-the-art basketball facility on the campus of UT-Arlington. The team is owned by Full Court Partners LLC.
SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to generate new revenue for the Dallas Wings through the development of new corporate partnership sales. The new hire will engage new and existing strategic partners to drive business value across all platforms. Additionally he/she will be expected to create and expand corporate relationships at local, regional and national levels; develop creative marketing solutions for partners that meet and enhance their business objectives; and exhibit the high-touch professionalism that properly reflects the culture of the Dallas Wings
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify creative new streams of sponsorship revenue and strategically cultivate relationships to secure
• Oversee all sales and service initiatives for the corporate partnerships department.
• Be partner-focused and collaborate with current and potential partners to create new and innovative platforms which fit their unique business
• Develop dynamic and unique sales presentations that incorporate category dynamics and a clear understanding of the prospective partners marketing
• Work in a collaborative manner with other departments to build new business platforms.
• Present business updates, new opportunities and industry-driven initiatives to the management team and sales leaders as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 8-10 years related experience in sports sponsorship sales, with progressive revenue and management responsibilities. Understand how to develop and grow relationships through prospecting
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Proven track record of successfully closing multiple complex sponsorship deals valued at no less than mid-six-figures annually.
• Must possess a significant number of established relationships in the corporate industry.
• Ability to work with aggressive sales goals and manage several projects concurrently.
• Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to develop and nurture strong and diverse community relationships
• Basketball experience or knowledge preferred
