Monroe College Athletics Assistant Sports Information Director

Role Overview:
The Asst. SID position is located at the Monroe College New Rochelle, NY campus. The position will include, but not limited to, assisting with publicizing and promoting all aspects of the athletic department. Will report to and work closely with the Sports Information Director to manage the department’s website and social media outlets, maintain statistical information, historical data, assist with athletic contest operations, and maintain all necessary information for the department’s coaches, student-athletes, the NJCAA, and the college community.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with publicizing and promoting all aspects of the athletic department through numerous media channels
• Write and edit press releases, game stories, game notes, game programs and more
• Assist with updating and maintaining the athletics website for accuracy and immediacy
• Expand and maintain Monroe College Athletics’ social media sites
• Compile, maintain, and distribute statistical information on all 21 varsity and JV sports programs
• Maintaining and reporting of statistical information on the college’s NJCAA web site
• Assist with post-season deadlines as it relates to All Region and All-America nominations.
• Operate computer programs including Stat Crew, Adobe In-Design, and Photoshop
• Assist with creation of athletic recruiting brochures and any related publications
• Expand and maintain the college’s athletic record books
• Help train, schedule, and oversee student workers in sports information office
• Coordination of photography shoots and files
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings as scheduled
• Public announcing duties when necessary
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience in a sports information office
• Excellent skills in written and verbal communication
• Experience with StatCrew, Adobe In-Design, Photoshop, and video editing
• Background in website maintenance and social media promotion
• Must be able to travel and work nights and weekends
