Job summary:
This Department Head position is responsible for the selling, planning and coordinating of all aspects of private membership sales held at the property. In addition, this position may sell and run tournaments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop market segments and solicit new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships.
• Sell and market to Internal and external markets may encompass current membership audience at the course, member events, golf shows and personal milestone events; other may include private event functions and golf tournaments.
• Be an ambassador for the property, fostering relationships with individuals & corporations to maintain member levels while prospecting for new members, constantly aware and maximizing sponsored and non-sponsored membership sales opportunities.
• Heighten awareness within the community and eternally from the club to public events.
• Responsible for being a positive role model in both social media formats and public forums by being active and showing consistent participation in all public facing opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Works closely with the Membership Relations Director and the entire management team.
• Responsible for generating a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals which meet and exceed sales goals and budgets.
• Up to 20% of time may include selling and running tournaments (including outside tournaments)
• Other duties may be assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
• College degree preferred or 3 years of related experience in sales preferably in golf/hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to manage and coach other sales team members in a consultative sales environment.
• Knowledge of how to use social media to drive sales is required: Including Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc…
• Must have a positive, engaging, and team oriented view on the workplace.
• Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM
• Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision
• Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required
• Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired
• Valid driver’s license required
