The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Compliance to support the Athletics Compliance office.
The Assistant Director of Compliance position exists to perform a variety of duties that support the Athletics Compliance Office in an effort to achieve operational excellence. Responsibilities include: exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies; primary oversight and coordination of the student-athlete time management plan education, creation, implementation and reporting; ensuring coaches, student-athletes and sport administrators adhere to NCAA rules governing student-athlete time demands and time management plans; daily and weekly interaction with coaches, student-athletes and sport administrators; collaborates with Teamworks to build internal systematic processes for time management data and reporting; primary oversight of the merchandise request program and serve as the lead contact for the Athletic Department; monitors the student-athlete complimentary admissions process.

Required qualifications include: A Bachelor's Degree and some compliance-related training and experience. Also required: Ability to maintain good records and logs for compliance-related matters, electronic and hard copy. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures related to working with various internal and external departments. Ability to adhere to appropriate state and university protocols. Ability to utilize office equipment, facilities and materials needed to complete assigned tasks. Ability to prepare statistical reports and handle information requests. Effective communication skills in speaking and in writing. Skill to maintain a database of information relating to current, potential, and past student-athletes. Ability to present a professional demeanor while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service.
Preferred qualifications include: At least 1 year of Athletics-related compliance experience at a NCAA member institution or NCAA/Conference national office is strongly preferred. Experience completing NCAA/Conference reports. Experience working with NCAA rules and regulations. Experience with Teamworks, Compliance Assistant internet (CAi) and NCAA LSDBI also preferred.
