The Associate Director of Compliance serves as a member of the compliance team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Athletics through its strategic plan. The position reports to the Associate Athletics Director and works in conjunction with the compliance staff to implement NCAA, Big Ten and The Ohio State University regulations.
This position will serve as the compliance liaison to several sports programs and will have some supervisory duties within the compliance staff. This position must be able to act with integrity and discretion as they will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, developing rules education curriculum and providing interpretative assistance for coaches, staff, student-athletes and outside constituents, drafting NCAA and Big Ten Conference waivers and petitions, assisting with monitoring efforts in the areas of recruiting, student-athlete employment, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, and other duties as assigned. This position works in a fast-paced creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Bachelor's Degree is required; J.D., or Master's Degree is desired. Two to three years full-time experience in an athletic compliance setting at an institutional, conference or national association level is required. Management experience is preferred. Position requires strong computer skills, strong analytical skills, well-developed written and oral communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple projects. Must have successful experience working in a collaborative and team oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.
