Primary Duties
• Coaching
◦ Assume head coach responsibilities for 2 to 4 of our top teams in the Gunners program. These teams will compete at a high level both locally as well as Nationally.
• Program Development and Management - The Director is responsible for Supporting the Development and Management of all programs
◦ Supporting the development of a 5-year development plan which supports the Club's strategic plan
◦ Build existing programs and create new opportunities for growth and recognition
◦ Review and update the Coach/Player/Parent Code of Conduct
◦ Assist with the set up and planning of ISC tournaments
• Coaching Development
◦ Support the recruit, hire, terminate and supervise coaches and trainers for the ISC Gunners program
◦ Support the recruit, evaluate and assign coaches for the ISC Select program
• Facilities Development
◦ Assist Executive Director (or delegate of the President) in the development and/or execution of all actions consistent with approved ISC marketing and sponsorship acquisition plans and the development of turf fields in the Issaquah/Sammamish communities.
◦ Work with field maintenance staff to maximize resources at Lake Sammamish State Park
• Public Relations
◦ Conduct pre-tryout parent meetings to educate parents about the program opportunities within the club and communicate standards of conduct
◦ Represent ISC at State, Regional, and National coaching seminars and workshops
◦ Promote ISC within the community and help with public relations
◦ Develop and build recognition for ISC within the region
• Personal Development
◦ Participate in annual continuing education programs, seminars, classes or lectures. Continuing education should include but not be limited to: additional coaching certifications, communication, management, leadership and administration.
• Organization/Administration
◦ Attend all board meetings as necessary to advise/council the direction of ISC regarding its philosophy and methodology in order to meet its goals and objectives
◦ Provide the board with quarterly progress reports pertaining to the development plan
◦ Respond to daily e-mails and phone calls from club membership
◦ At the direction of the Executive Director or President, assists in fundraising/sponsorship development and implementation
◦ For the purposes of allowing an Executive Director {or delegate of the President) to execute all actions consistent with the implementation of the budget, the Director, with ISC Staff, shall prepare annual program plans {including all camps and academies) and funding requirements.
The fundamental role of all ISC coaches and staff is to provide a safe and educational playing environment for the players. You are expected to set goals, determine a progression that will achieve those goals and provide feedback to players about performance. As a coach you have a responsibility that all players are treated with equal respect and education; that injured players are respected and cared for; that players are never punished for mistakes or losing. As a coach, you also have a responsibility to the game. The game must be held to the highest standards and in the greatest esteem. The coach and your players must respect the laws and spirit of the game and must hold their ethical behavior to the highest standards - wins, lose, or draw.
• The successful applicant will be required to have valid work authorization to work in the United States
◦ Please note: No work visa’s will be provided by ISC Gunners for this role
• Minimum of USSF B License or NSCAA National Diploma. USSF A License preferred
• Bachelor Degree preferred
• High level of previous soccer coaching experience a must
• High level of previous soccer playing experience preferred
• Provide own computer with necessary software and have a fundamental knowledge and experience with Email, word, excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication and managements skills
• Must have clean drivers licenses and own transportation
• Honest, driven, good work ethic, motivated and passionate about youth soccer and the development of young players, our Club and Programs
Other:
Each candidate will be given the opportunity to develop and progress under the leadership of the ISC DOC’s, will attend coaching courses with the USSF and NSCAA as support/financed by ISC. ISC also offers opportunities to develop into administrative and leadership positions with the organization, based upon commitment, dedication and ability.
