Thiel College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Sports Information Director. Thiel College is a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) and sponsors 23 NCAA Division III programs.
Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in communication(s), journalism, sport management or related field. Experience using StatCrew for in-game scoring, especially, volleyball, basketball and football. Experience in web maintenance, particularly SIDEARM Sports, and game day and event management experience, as well as utilizing design programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a must. Strong knowledge of social media platforms and strategies, along with experience working in a collegiate athletics setting. Candidate must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary, and a willingness to travel on a limited basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as the primary contact for several sports
• Assist in the production of multiple publications
• Game day and event management
• Support on-campus student media efforts
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring and oversight of athletics work study students
• Spearhead social media efforts for the department of athletics
• Additional duties as assigned
Compensation
• $7,200 stipend payable in monthly increments
• Group insurance and other fringe benefits as approved for full-time staff
• Campus housing
• Full meal plan for the dining facility during regular operating hours during the academic year
• Upon demonstrating performance competencies after a five-month trial period, this position is eligible for graduate school (tuition only) reimbursement at a mutually agreed upon online two-year program beginning in the summer of 2017. Authorization of graduate school (tuition only) reimbursement beginning in the summer of 2017 will require a two-year (four-semester) contract.
