Job Description
Key Characteristics
Strong leadership capabilities, an innate desire to help people, strategic decision-making, negotiation skills, adaptability, and a strong customer focus. Ability to represent the company as a leader in the sports travel, event services, and transportation industry. Lead and manage within their team and across Anthony Travel.
Effective communication, both verbal and written, with clients, associates, vendors, and other business professionals. Ability to form and grow strategic partnerships. Ability to establish, communicate and execute vision, while maintaining oversight and responsibility for the transportation business functions, including services, operations, sales, marketing, financial and human resources. Manage multiple roles, priorities and responsibilities simultaneously. It is preferred that this individual brings a network of experiences and relationships in transportation and event services.
Relevant experience preferred with:
Leadership Transportation, Operations and Logistics, Marketing Event Operations and Logistics, Technology Sales, Travel, General Business Operations, Hospitality Financial Services, Sports, Relationship Management– internal/external.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and direction in developing long-range goals and growth
plans that consider transportation management best practices, strategic
partnerships, technology solutions, and staffing strategies.
• Provide logistics planning and execution, transportation consultation
and customer service.
• Work with clients to develop and deploy effective communication
strategies that enhance guest transportation experiences
• Develop productive working relationships with clients and deploy
effective account management strategies
• Recruit, develop, motivate and retain full-time staff through the growth
plans, coaching, mentoring, teamwork, mutual respect, and maintenance of the
highest level of professionalism.
• Develop and maintain a network of experienced and trusted contractors
for transportation execution on events.
• Propose and execute processes, procedures, and technologies that
maximize effectiveness and efficiency for transportation execution.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Transportation Management
◦ Work with clients to identify specific needs and expectations
◦ Deliver on transportation planning, logistics management and execution
◦ Perform situation analysis and decision making
◦ Train staff on transportation management and identify key logistical points and procedures to communicate to staff
◦ Identify transportation technology solutions and assist with deploying across various events
• Financial Management and Reporting
◦ Build and monitor transportation budgets
◦ Presenting transportation or client information on reports tailored to the specific event or client
• Sales and Marketing
◦ Assist with developing and responding to transportation RFP’s
◦ Assist with developing marketing and sales materials
◦ Assist with identifying and developing new business/clients
◦ Contract development, review, and negotiations
◦ Administrative
◦ Approve on-site staff travel arrangements for each event
◦ Approve per diems and expense reports for staff travel
◦ Approve staff time requests and timesheet submissions
◦ Conduct one-on-one meetings with team on a regular basis
◦ Conduct reviews and provide input on merit increases
◦ Review and approve check requests submitted for events
◦ Reconcile AMEX charges
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience in an upper management position (minimum of 4 years) in the transportation and event logistics field
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
