GROUP ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
We’ve been growing at a rapid rate for the past few years, which makes it an exciting time to be a part of the Octagon team. We are looking for a GAD to join the team on a 12 month maternity cover contract.
What’s a GAD at Octagon look like? Good question. In truth, you’re a bit of a spark plug. You’re the sort of person who relishes a challenge, moves at a rapid pace, has a strategic mind, and can lead our key client relationships hand in hand with our team of outstanding AD’s. You don’t fit the mould either, and are dynamic in your approach to client service and relationship building. You question things too, not to be difficult, but to understand if there’s a better way. There’s no set pattern to how we do things here so we want you to bring your own flavour.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support to the Agency Director – starting with your own division of clients and responsibilities things do tend to move at a pace where overlap is inevitable and necessary. Your ability to step in, tag team, and work on the same wavelength to create a seamless strategic support to AD’s and clients alike is absolutely critical! Unique work styles are celebrated, but united goals and work ethic are paramount
• Assist AD’s in the overall strategic direction of client projects and new business growth. Lead by example. Lead from the front
• Manage the revenue, profitability and staffing for your key clients
• Mentor and coach your teams so they grow and remain challenged within the agency
• With the support of the Strategy & Insights Team, help integrate new thought leadership initiatives so we are constantly raising the bar on our client value
• Create cutting edge presentations and new ways of selling our strategies and ideas to clients
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through client networking and relationship building
• Drive internal initiatives that support our goal of being the most recommended agency to work for in our field
QUALIFICATIONS
• Over 10 years’ experience servicing clients in an agency environment
• Proven track record in experiential, sponsorship activation or content production backgrounds will be highly valued. At minimum a deep understanding and passion for concepts which earn attention is a must!
• A passion and interest in the power of sports and/or entertainment
• Passion for new ideas and innovative thinking
• A natural team leader with strong influencing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commercially astute in driving business outcomes and ROI
