Position Description:
The Director of Travel oversees the overall performance of the Travel Department. The incumbent is a strategic thinker and is able to create travel policies to ensure employee travel is safe, organized and in accordance with company policy. Further, the Director of Travel is required to secure new business partnerships & sales, maintain existing business relationships, and operate within company budget allowances. The incumbent reports to the SVP, Global Events.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the operations of the Travel Department
• Develop strategic policies and programs for corporate travel
• Handle and oversee all travel arrangement (air, lodging, etc.) and operations
• Exercises discretion and independent judgment with regards to matter of significance.
• Manage travel relationships with travel agencies, vendors and company staff
• Budgetary responsibility for all travel through all CGI organization.
• Forecasting & budgeting on annual basis. Also conduct reporting and analysis on travel financials on monthly basis.
• Oversees the negotiation of contracts or rates with travel service providers
• Analyzing, reporting and improving on performance, growth and sales
• Meet or exceed organizational and departmental goals
• Provide advice on travel documents, insurance, and international travel regulations
• International Tour Operator program development
• Resolves travel problems by clarifying issues, researches and explores answers and alternatives solutions, implements solutions, escalates unresolved problems
• Accurately complete reports and maintains current business files
• Supervise two Travel Managers and provide effective and efficient workplace guidance
• Conduct performance evaluations on a timely basis, provide constructive feedback and correct any employee performance issues
• Drive continuous improvements of travel programs
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Business, Hospitality, Travel or in similar field.
• 6 + years of experience in the corporate travel industry. Tour planning experience is desirable.
• Staff supervisory experience required
• Working knowledge of MS Office, and Concur
• Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies
• Knowledge of travel & entertainment reporting and processing
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to interface with all staff including senior management team and Board of Directors.
• Ability to travel to various locations and special events.

The starting annual pay for this position is $74,406 - $77,647
