The director, Pricing & Revenue Strategy will lead the evolution of Starbucks strategic pricing and revenue optimization efforts. As part of an industry-leading pricing team, the director will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing and revenue strategies to deliver financial growth goals for Starbucks North American operations. Responsibilities include team leadership and vision setting, aligning senior leaders to a strategic direction, maximization of revenue and profitability, and flawless execution of pricing and revenue plans. This position will report to the vice president, Pricing & Revenue Strategy within Starbucks Marketing organization.
As a director, Pricing & Revenue Strategy, you will…
• Models leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values
• Provides coaching and leadership to attract, retain, develop and inspire a high performing team
• Develops strategic pricing plans to maximize profitability while preserving long-term customer value, including: new product pricing recommendations, geographic pricing strategies, and financial trade-off analysis
• Drives revenue optimization opportunities through order channel strategy, value creation and discount strategy, menu strategy, and bundling recommendations
• Ensures flawless execution of pricing and revenue plans across systems, menus, and order channels
• Creates and executes ongoing learning plans to inform price tests, gather competitive intelligence, analyze customer behavior, and track industry trends
• Leads executive Pricing Steering Committee to ensure alignment of programs and strategies with overall company goals
• Partners with, communicates to, and educates client groups on design changes in policies and practices
• Provides strategic thought leadership across marketing, product, and operations
We’d love to hear from people with:
• 10+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management or equivalent consulting work
• Experience with menu strategy, pricing theory, and/or behavioral economics
• Advanced skills in Tableau, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven leadership and influencing skills
• Big-picture thinker with strong problem-solving skills and intense attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities to align strategies and tactics to overall business goals
• Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, economics, mathematics, statistics or similar quantitative discipline
• Experience with restaurant or retail pricing and revenue strategy, menu strategy, and order channel strategy
• MBA/MS strongly preferred
