Description
The Director, Change Management and Executive Communications is responsible for working closely with the VP, Internal Communications, Change Management and Corporate Social Responsibility to develop and drive an Enterprise Change Management strategy aligned to business objectives and goals. They would also be responsible for developing and executing the communication strategy for the CEO and key executives. This position will play a key role in translating the business strategy and associated transformation initiatives into a practical and achievable change management and communication plan.
This individual will work closely with the entire internal communications team and provide counsel to senior leaders, managing multiple communication projects for key stakeholders to drive participation and understanding across programs. This individual would also work closely with IR and External communications to draft messages related to financial performance. Finally, they would work with creative and design teams to ensure alignment to branding and key themes.
This position reports to the VP, Internal Communications, Change Management and Corporate Responsibility.
Essential Functions
• Lead the development and implementation of DN’s strategic change management and communications strategy.
• Act as a strategic communication advisor to internal and external communications to ensure alignment to enterprise strategy.
• Draft CEO/executive communications across a wide range of communication channels (webcasts, face-to-face, video, online, print, social media, etc.) to engage and inform all levels of employees globally.
• Ensure the planning, development, and execution of communications that consider all audiences/levels in the company; address the unique needs of the business units and geographies; are consistent and aligned with DN’s practices, brand standards, and other initiatives/global messages.
• Measure effectiveness of communication activities and use feedback to improve future efforts.
• Collaborate closely with communicators across the organization to align on approach, timing and intent of messages.
• Manage inflow and overall roadmap for function to ensure all audiences and channels are being considered.
• Successfully manage and prioritize workload.
• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism or relevant field.
• 15+ year experience managing internal communications and change management in large, complex companies.
• Experience managing internal communications and change management in a global company preferred.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in developing narratives, leadership communications, and communications strategies and tactical execution.
• Ability to synthesize diverse activities into clear and compelling frameworks to help stakeholders understand how discrete actions support a broader agenda.
• Problem solving/critical thinking – approaches challenges and problems in a rational, thoughtful manner that assures understanding and effective resolution.
• Experience in human resources or large corporate function
• Directly responsible for written communications, from writing to layout and design
• Experience leading online communications strategies including intranet site, print campaigns, e-mail, social media, or mobile communication.
• Understanding and experience executing change management methodologies.
• Understanding and experience drafting executive messages
• Understanding and experience in core financial concepts (e.g., EBITDA, operating profit)
• Advanced MS PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
