As the Director of Supply Chain Applications, this role will be accountable for maintaining, enhancing and implementing supply chain systems in alignment with IT and Business Strategy. This includes creating technology road maps through partnership with business stakeholders/ product management and other technology leaders, building very effective high performing team and delivering scalable global technical platforms to meet business outcomes..
Job Responsibilities
• Apply broad retail industry and supply chain applications knowledge including an understanding of the business strategies to create and/or sustain application solution roadmap that supports the business goals.
• Champion supply chain priorities through IT portfolio governance process to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
• Act as an advisor and visionary on new technologies that are emerging in the supply chain space to support the tremendous transformation that is happening in the retail industry to meet rapidly changing customer expectations.
• Lead long term strategic investments in support of supply chain applications as well as short term continuous improvements aligned with business and IT plans.
• Update/rationalize supply chain application portfolio roadmap on an annual basis.
• Possesses advanced understanding of supply chain areas, their technical and functional processes, business objectives and organizational dynamics.
• Accountable for the technical direction of the group, leveraging own experience, technical experts and fostering technical innovation.
• Evangelize through technical and business discussions.
• Partner and Collaborate with all key business stakeholders, product management and technology leadership team to evaluate and select new technology solutions.
• Directs teams, ensuring they are working together effectively.
• Partners with and integrates with other teams, resolving conflicts and managing competing priorities, to provide a complete solution.
• Continuously evaluate our core technology processes and look for opportunities to streamline and add greater value.
• Stays up to date on the activities of competitors and the industry in general both for IT and QRG. Maintains a thorough and current understanding of best practices in the technology industry and implements as appropriate.
• Works with senior leadership on organization design and execution.
• Makes hiring decisions. Implements strategies to attract, retain, motivate and develop talent in their organization. Provides opportunities for growth and encourages innovation.
• Responsible for all performance-related activities, including performance reviews and any disciplinary recommendations.
• Makes compensation decisions.
• Ensures quality, compliance/control and fiscal standards are met
• Develops and manages budgets and ensures budget objectives are achieved through managers and other team members.
• Define, build, communicate and manage clear service level agreements with IT teams, business partners and third party providers.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or equivalent is required; (Master’s Degree preferred)
• Minimum of 8-10 years of implementing and supporting applications in the supply chain area with at least 4-6 years of leadership experience in managing multiple large scale cross functional IT initiatives.
• Track record of translating supply chain business strategies into IT investment portfolio
• Experience managing a complex portfolio of applications with COTS and Custom built
• Experience maintaining IT general controls/SOX controls
• Experience in a large scale complex environment
• Experience demonstrating personal initiative and strong ownership
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience
• Agile development methodologies, CI/CD practices
• Experience implementing and/or supporting supply chain systems globally
• Experience working with offshore/onshore teams
