Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

About The Role:
This is a leadership role to lead a group of data scientists and analysts, and partner with other senior leaders to build innovative and scalable applications in retail business. Responsible for guiding the team and developing best practice to run a productive cross-functional operations in an agile software development environment.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• 40% - Lead and develop effective cross-function-operations of data scientists and analysts and closely partner with product and engineering teams to build intelligent and scalable solutions
• 25% - Hire, train, mentor team members to develop key skills to be productive in a cross-functional environment
• 15% - Partner with leadership team to co-develop vision, strategy, roadmap of BlackLocus analytical capabilities into scalable solutions
• 10% - Develop and implement best practices as well as establish and maintain balanced portfolio of projects as well as resources in alignment with strategic organization goals
• 10% - Work closely with The Home Depot business stakeholders and drive greater business value through partnership
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the General Manager of Black Locus.
This position has 5-15 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
• 10+ years leadership experience in an agile, cross-functional environment with product, engineering, analytics teams
• 5+ years leadership experience developing analytics capabilities/solutions
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, computer science, statistics, operational research, etc.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:10 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Retail experience
• Software/Technology company experience using Cloud technology
• Master's degree or MBA
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• In depth understanding of data science and analytics capability
• Leadership skills in an agile development and operations environment
• Entrepreneurial leader with executive presence
