The Home Depot Rental Division operates in over 1100 locations of The Home Depot across the US and Canada, offering large towable equipment, tools, trucks and trailer rental along with on-site equipment delivery. The large equipment fleet includes trenchers, chippers, mini-excavators, skid steers, aerial work platform equipment, and tractor loader backhoes among others. With a large team of highly trained technicians, shop techs, and VIP Delivery Technicians and customer care associates throughout the United States and Canada.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director, Rental Field Operations is responsible for the execution of Rental Field Operation processes for all Divisions. Divisional Rental Managers will report to the Director, Rental Field Operations. This position reports to the Senior Director, Rental Operations. Duties include: oversight of customer service, sales, profitability, theft, operations, and safety. The Director, Rental Field Operations will lead efforts in teaching, coaching, and training field Rental Leadership for all Divisions. In addition, the Director will lead the implementation of all Rental initiatives with collaboration of Store and Operations Leadership. The Director must be able to handle multiple projects and gain the necessary partnership of Support Teams along with Divisional and Regional Management to achieve goals.
TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
25% -Owns US Heavy Equipment P&L and drives Rental Divisions to execute on key success metrics - including dollar cost utilization, units down percentage, average days down, and capital deployment efficiency
20% -Drives adherence to Rental Standard Operating Procedures for US Divisions, and partners with the Fort Mill Support Staff and Atlanta SSC teams to simplify and improve field processes, while ensuring procedures properly reflect legal requirements
15% -Ensures execution of safety programs and protocols, and DOT standards in conjunction with Safety Team
15% -Execute Heavy Equipment expansion initiatives, including Hub and Spoke concept
15% -Drive implementation of selection, training, and development of Regional Leadership Staff, as well as functional training initiatives for Rental technicians and drivers
10% -Responsible for selection, training, and development of Divisional Manager Team

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:Typically in a comfortable environment, but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes
Travel:Travel requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:5 years
Physical Requirements:Most of the time is spent sitting on the same position or standing / walking
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years in Operations roles of increasing responsibility in the following fields: Rental Operations, Store Operations, Asset Protection, Safety, Environmental
Experience leading multi-unit business in a large geography
Experience directing and developing leadership teams
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
