Social Media represents a number or key components of our future at the Co-op and a way to frequently connect with consumers and convey what it feels like and physically means to live a life outdoors. The Associate Creative Director, Social will lead a creative team and partner closely with other stakeholders cross-divisionally throughout the Co-op. This role will create strategically sound work that bring eyes and ears to many aspects of the business. Being known for best-in-class social is the primary goal of this team. The ideal candidate has a passion for the outdoors and is curious about expanding their current knowledge of gear, expertise, experiences and where to go
The Associate Creative Director is responsible for:
• Leading REI’s Social marketing creative development and execution to drive towards the business goals (delivered by various teams and initiatives.)
• Driving innovative social marketing creative to connect with current audiences and attract new audiences to REI offerings
• Ensure that targeted audiences are being appropriately considered by partnering with Marketing Analytics to monitor progress against agreed upon metrics
• Provide local market guidance to ensure quality standards across the Co-op
• Partnering closely with social channel team to understand and incorporate best practices and data-driven insights
• Contributes to creative test and learn agenda to continually refine what approaches best connect with our audience
• Strong understanding of consumer behavior and social platform trends

• Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews
• Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results
• Establishes and maintains visibility within the department
• Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action

• Contributes to the development of social strategy and goals that supports the REI corporate vision and strategy
• Targets new customers with relevant communications, content, offers and experiences to increase active members and drive sales
• Partners with programs and communication teams to ensure that the broader Co-op is contributing to driving the success of social efforts
• Partners with the content team to ensure that our content and social strategies are deeply integrated
• Maintains all legal standards as applicable to social marketing strategies particularly as they relate to privacy policy and customer data
