Position Summary
**This can be a remote based role**
The Director of the CVS Caremark Oncology Product Development team is responsible for developing and executing a product roadmap that delivers holistic and market differentiating solutions to key market challenges in Oncology.
Oncology represents 40% of medical pharmacy spend, has a new drug approval approximately monthly, and is the highest forecasted future growth category. It is also one of the most rapidly evolving areas of healthcare; in the past 12 months, there have been over 500 changes to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. The growing number of patients receiving cancer treatment, new approvals combined with rapid changes and rising costs, presents significant and evolving challenges for patients, providers and plan sponsors. CVS Health is committed to delivering disruptive solutions that improve quality, cost and patient experience in the Oncology market.
The Director of Oncology Product Development will develop and optimize our Oncology product portfolio. In this role, the leader will:
• Collect market and other insights to identify unsolved challenges in Oncology
• Design product concepts that are unique and differentiating solutions to identified challenges
• Work across the Specialty leadership team to align on prioritization of new pipeline opportunities
• Lead all aspects of product development and lead a team of cross functional partners – including IT, Medical Affairs, Operations, Marketing, Underwriting, and Sales to bring new concepts from ideation to commercialization
• Where appropriate, identify, source, and execute external partnerships to deliver new solutions
• Test, learn, measure, and scale solutions that improve Oncology patient care, experience, and cost outcomes while also delivering on business (EBIT) objectives.
• Manage product growth and associated P&L
Required Qualifications
• 8 or more years of experience in a healthcare related field; in-depth understanding of marketplace dynamics to anticipate and address emerging market needs;
• 5 or more years in a product development leadership role;
• Patient engagement and digital strategy experiences are strongly preferred
• Ability to frame complex problems and develop solutions that address multiple interests with minimal guidance and direction - trusted team member with considerable autonomy to shape strategic direction of offerings.
• Advanced Impact and Influence skills – ability to influence and establish rapport with colleagues both senior and junior to him/her.
• Experience with clinical and financial aspects of pharmacy or medical benefits
• Exemplary leadership and management skills.
• Superb communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to achieve established goals while navigating a complex and highly matrixed organization.
• Deep analytical abilities - design analytical plans and find insights through analytics to inform strategy
• Ability to travel 1-2x per month.
Preferred Qualifications
Oncology experience a plus
Education
Bachelors degree.
Masters in Business/Advance degree or equivalent preferred.
