Associate Relations Specialist - Human Resources

We are looking for an Associate Relations Specialist who is a self-motivated, problem solver with impeccable people skills. The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a fast-paced team that collaborates with employees, management and human resources to resolve a variety of employee scenarios on a daily basis. The candidate is highly organized, deploys critical thinking and handles sensitive employee matters with the upmost care and consideration.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide timely customer service response to questions regarding policy, corrective action and other HR-related topics.
• Development of policies and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws
• Previous experience as a Generalist would be a benefit - queries could include: Benefits, payroll etc.)
• Leads fact-finding investigations to include interviewing of involved parties, reviewing documentation, compiling and maintaining appropriate notes, and assisting in identifying options for resolution.
• Creates chronological history of relevant issues.
• Ensures that employment laws and Dollar Tree policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
• Provides counseling, trains and advises management on a variety of associate relations matters such as attendance, corrective action and general performance and conduct related matters to improve performance and overall associate relations.
• Assists in the company’s defense of EEOC charges, employee lawsuits, unemployment hearings, including gathering files, reports and required details.
• Assist with customer relations
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
• 4-year degree in HR or a related field or equivalent work related experience
• 3 + years of experience in the area of employee relations (Experience in a retail environment preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
