The Director, Contract Manufacturing is accountable for creating and executing the strategy for the America’s Contract Manufacturing and Product Licensing. This includes copackers, repacking, displays, e-commerce/DTC solutions, and import from McCormick factories. The role will have operational responsibility for co-packers, licensing, quality, service, reliability and cost. T<span style="font-family: "Arial", sans-serif;">he present network includes over 60 suppliers from 8 countries, representing a significant annual spend and sales impact. The job will require up to 25% travel to visit co-packers or McCormick site locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop and support America’s co-manufacturing strategy in conjunction with Procurement, and execute strategies that deliver year-over-year savings while delivering food-safe consumer preferred solutions.
• Develop and integrate the make versus buy strategy and ongoing analysis for new products. Serve as the co-pack lead for make versus buy decisions.
• Review and drive in-sourcing opportunities aligned to strategy to improve service, quality, and cost.
• Actively support approved innovation platforms, including insource and outsource startups.
• Manage copacker operational performance to ensure quality and service expectations are met.
• Develop and manage a robust co-packer approval process to ensure quality, process reliability, and operational cost on McCormick produced items. Accountable for ensuring budget assumptions are loaded into appropriate cost centers in a timely manner and aligned with the commercial P&L owners.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related discipline
Requirements and Experience:
• Minimum of 12 years of supply chain experience in manufacturing, planning or procurement in a matrix environment/organization.
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
• Strong financial acumen required to support Make/Buy analysis.
• Ability to lead and influence cross functionally.
• Ability to build strong credibility and influence business leaders in different functions within the organization (Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Commercial) and external suppliers.
