Job Description
The Director of Business Development is will contribute to developing sales, merchandising and marketing plans to drive topline revenue & business growth for their region. The Director and their team will influence and lead our external relationships with clients and vendors to maximize support for our company and increase preference & partnership with our brand. They are accountable for driving topline sales and profitability through sales programs and team leadership.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
Achieves sales plan goals consistent with Sears expectations for the financial performance.
Leads & executes sales development activities via our inside & outside sales force as well as our physical showrooms for their region.
Develops and implements sales strategies and growth plans necessary to maintain and strengthen “premier supplier” status for the custom home, upscale remodeler and designer market segments.
Develops & maintains mutually beneficial and strong relationships with our vendor partners, leading the negotiations for pricing, promotions, contracts, and funding support.
Responsible for the creation of new strategic partnerships and the success of existing partner relationships
Teams up business development priorities in coordination with BU strategic goals and annual plans
Manages demand generation activities (marketing) as well as the support form our partners (vendors) for these activities.
Develops and executes merchandising strategies, showroom design, and marketing plans.
Generates and maintains local vendor relationships and support programs.
Provide high-level direction and leadership in developing marketing strategies and programs for the business based on strategic direction, current business, customer and research data
Creates cohesive & collaborative plan across marketing & merchant teams and vendors develop an integrated marketing strategy and plan
Oversees the alignment of category marketing plans with brand strategy and category promotional plans
Owner of topline revenue & Gross Profit KPI's for their region, with shared ownership of bottom-line profitability with operations team.
Sets and achieves financial targets for the region and brands
Leverages partners core competencies to improve SHC’s results
Recruits, hires, trains, retains and develops a high performance sales team.
Reviews and makes recommendations for sales commission and incentive programs to incent the desired outcomes while managing the bottom line impact.
Develops & executes merchandising strategies and foster positive vendor relationships and support.
Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.

Preferred Minimum Education
Bachelors Level Degree
Travel Requirements
