Description
This position will be responsible and accountable across the Americas for service parts logistics, warehousing and distribution operations. As such, this person will develop and execute local and regional strategies, process improvement initiatives, develop activities based labor standards, develop and execute against budget targets and develop relevant KPI’s / metrics to ensure global service distribution and logistics objectives are achieved and operational efficiency is optimized.
This position can be a remote work opportunity, but prefer a local resident. Position is eligible for relocation assistance.
The position will also provide leadership to further develop the organization’s culture in the areas of: alignment with corporate strategy, team development and succession planning, performance based goals and objectives and associate empowerment and recognition.
Essential functions:
• Provide strategic leadership and drive and facilitate the organizational strategies across the Americas in the areas of internal and 3rd party logistics, warehousing and distribution operations.
• Ensure that effective and efficient logistics, warehousing and distribution processes are implemented and standardized.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement programs to drive operational efficiencies
• Develop and execute against business critical logistics KPI and metrics
• Manage, develop and train direct and indirect team members to ensure a fully functioning, robust team and talent pool.
• Ensure on-time parts delivery and reliability for over 3,000 field technicians
• Key interface between vendors, customers, internal departments and operations, etc.
• Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics Management, or Operations / Supply Chain required…MBA or equivalent certification or experience preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressive Logistics / Distribution management, preferably with North, South and Latin America experience including geographical knowledge of the major clients / vendors, economic trends, etc.
• Proven experience in leading all facets of service parts management and distribution. (strategic planning, budget, production, safety laws & regulations,etc) Reverse logistics experience a plus.
• Strong business acumen for effectively managing the costs and expenses across a complex logistics network.
• Ability to anticipate market trends and client opportunities and respond appropriately.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to run logistics, warehousing and distribution functions from both an internal and 3rd party perspective.
• Effective in building customer relations.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to respond to fast changing requirements appropriately.
• Ability to negotiate and persuade clients into accepting reasonable solutions while protecting the interests of the organization.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent problem solving certification recommended.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
