Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director, Human Resources – MET develops, drives and directs projects in support of the delivery of people strategies for the MET organization. This is a blended position of HR generalist and project management deliverables. This position partners with senior business leaders to ensure the most effective utilization of human capital needed to maximize business performance by owning the HR work stream within broader initiatives and identifying HR process gaps. As a HR business partner, this role provides strategic and hands on support in the execution of HR programs and processes for the MET SSC teams. As a HR Process Management leader, this role leads all aspects of HR initiatives inclusive of business case, project plan, establishment of milestones/ targets, roll-out/ execution plan, approval/ tollgates, leadership meetings, alignment with Store HR and sustainability for the MET organization. The incumbent should be versed in HR managing the integration of HR systems and policies into projects as well as a standard defined project methodology.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop and lead planning, design, implementation and communication of HR initiatives and HR work streams to support current and future business needs
• Facilitates alignment across Store and MET HR initiatives, policies and practices
• Consult with leadership to support the transformation of the business by serving as a change champion assessing and planning the organizational impact, communication approach and risk mitigation plan
• Lead the organization in identifying gaps, opportunities, and strategic improvements of the execution of core HR processes to drive consistency and alignment across MET (e.g., performance management, learning, career pathing, talent planning, associate engagement surveys and succession planning)
• Establish effective systems to support the cyclical human resource processes. Build effective plans for controlling project scope, schedule, budget and metrics to ensure effectiveness and success of projects
• Consult with leadership to support the transformation of the business by serving as a change champion assessing and planning the organizational impact, communication approach and risk mitigation plan
NATURE AND SCOPE
• Typically reports to a Sr. Director, Human Resources
• Direct reports typically include 4 10 Human Resources Managers.
• Typically requires the ability to lead negotiations in a highly competitive or adversarial environment.
• Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.
• Typically considers new courses of action within broad policies and medium-term goals when solving problems.
• Typically determines what should be done in a functional area or business unit within broad policies and principles or very general goals.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• Demonstrated track record in building people strategies and solutions to support business objectives and clearly articulated outcomes
• Strong project leadership skills owning the project lifecycle and meeting timelines
• Prior experience leading through large scale change initiatives and a mindset for continuous improvement
• Proven success building strategic partnerships internally, externally and cross functionally that lead to co-ownership of solutions and shared successes
• Strong communications skills both written and verbal. Ability to story tell
• Uncompromised collaborator with the ability to reach across functions and regions
• Operate with a clear bias for analytics, employing multiple data sets and systems to use data to inform the business decisions and identify gaps
• Operate with an eye to the future having a strong connection with industry trends and emerging processes and systems
