Position Description
Background
With the backing of parent company Walmart, Vudu plans to grow its streaming service significantly. The Associate Director of Engagement and Retention will take an exciting lead. Vudu is looking for a star with a proven record of successful customer engagement and retention at a consumer streaming service.
Scope of the role
• This role has end-to-end responsibility when it comes to engaging and retaining customers: from strategic planning to overseeing the tactical execution week in and week out.
• This role defines the strategies for scaling programs, while managing a small internal team of digital marketers. With the team, access to digital agencies and spend budget where needed, this role will refine audience targeting and turn retention into a systematic program. This role will drive retention of paying customers as well as those who choose to use Vudu for ad-supported free movie viewing. The person will work closely with an internal analytics team to measure performance, uncover insights, and identify new opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have strong communication and presentation skills to be effective in sharing plans and results across a large the organization to drive buy in and alignment. Key skills to doing this well are clear strategic thinking, data-driven planning, and strong points of view. Must be a strong storyteller, able to synthesize data to generate insights and a logical narrative.
- Must also have experience with such retention channels as email marketing and mobile push. Specifically, eight or more years of engagement & retention experience is desired. Three or more years of previous experience managing a team is also desired.
- Prefer experience in building automated solutions to aim for 1:1 level marketing
- Prefer experience engaging customers through living room devices in addition to web and mobile app.
