Summary
Director Trend and Innovation
The Director, Trend and Innovation is responsible for setting strategic innovation agenda for assigned retail partners, as well as, leading innovation for white space for the assigned Division, and participating in Enterprise level initiatives as requested. The role involves developing innovative strategies, identifying and vetting the strongest concepts, and leading a cross functional team to deliver initiatives aligned with stated consumer, product, and financial goals.

Responsibilities
The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. Job Duty
• Leads development of new product ideas at the front end by utilizing key consumer and customer insights to identify portfolio gaps and build winning ideas. Actively contribute to thought leadership content and opportunities for the Division
• Uses consumer research, marketplace feedback, and brand goals/financials to prioritize, vet, and commercialize high potential ideas.
• Partner with Planning and Insights team to ensure that all client and customer responses are squarely grounded in business and industry insights
• Partner with Business Development Leaders and internal business segments to drive integrated retail experiential innovation
• Develop and implement detailed strategic business plans which formally identify additional business opportunities to strengthen our service delivery with our clients
• Acts as a voice and champion of the consumer throughout the development process. Be able to translate the consumer needs and desires into technical activities for cross functional, Procurement, and Operations teams.
• Leads Product alignment meetings with the cross-functional team throughout the development process incorporating desires and concerns.
• Develop launch recommendations utilizing an understanding of profitability and strategic alignment.
• Ensure all work product delivers measurable value that maximizes client satisfaction, on time and within scope.

• Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience:
7+ years of experience in Marketing, Sales or Retail
• Experience in Brand Management, Customer Management, Category Management, and Shopper Marketing a plus
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Must have a high level of curiosity about the marketplace, competitors, and consumers
• Must have a proven track record leading a cross functional team and influencing senior leaders and customers.
• Must be able to easily maneuver between high level strategic thinking and detail orientation.
• Must have a strong financial acumen with the knowledge of P&L drivers throughout the value chain.
• Must have a proven track record of driving profitable growth product innovation.
• Must have a foundational understanding of consumer research techniques and be able to articulate research objectives.
• Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily from a home office or in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
