Position Summary
CVS Health IT team is seeking a qualified candidate for a API Services Lead position that is responsible for managing the implementation of multiple API service offerings. This role will create a sustainable private API framework, bring existing APIs into that framework, and lead introduction of new APIs. Additionally, they will collaborate with product and other teams across the enterprise to enable effective use of the APIs in a Devops and CI/CD environment. To support the Business API Owner, the role will build/report the statistics and trends to forecast growth of the APIs. The role will also perform project management and coordination activities, build and/or review customer-facing communications, and drive the overall delivery of APIs.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Leader who can provide hands-on leadership to a team of developers for the CVS Health API Management function.
Lead technology evaluation, architecture, and design with strong focus on cloud-hosting, platform services, APIs, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Platform, Azure Platform or AWS Platform.
Build and lead a team of experienced API developers
Manage and support API platform/framework in alignment with CVS Health’s Product & Platform Strategy
Identify, build, and manage common reusable components/services in support of APIs
Drive strategies to move from a solely on-prem environment to a hybrid cloud including public cloud provider (Google, Oracle or Azure).
Work closely with application solution architects to maintain and ensure best-practice paradigms are used in all systems. Provide solution recommendations as appropriate.
Collaborate with IT Leadership on Technical Strategy.
Perform detailed architectural reviews of new enterprise-level applications
Influence and inspire technical leads servicing CVS Health BUs.
Participate and work with corporate wide technical committees to influence technology direction, build consensus, and architectural decisions. Create technical documentations and presentations for varied audiences.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of IT experience architecting and designing enterprise-scale web apps.
3+ years experience with API services.
3+ years experience leading teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Software as a Service (SAAS) and Open Source implementation experience
Significant experience with defining application architecture for GCP, Oracle Cloud, AWS or Azure
Hands-on experience with architecting and implementation of solutions using frameworks such as MVC and technologies such as Node.js and Angular JS.
Experience with Web Services, Microservices, and Asynchronous Messaging.
Knowledgeable and comfortable working in Agile SDLC/ DevOPs/Scrum processes.
Must possess strong work ethic; team player with great verbal/written communication, and organization skills.
Education
Bachelors degree required.
