General Responsibilities
Key Result Areas:
• Develop the Hertz standard Deployment governance, process tools and templates for application deployment plans
• Define a common set of metrics to measure the quality of the deployment plans and deployment readiness
• Partner with the program teams to assemble an overall transformation deployment calendar/timeline, identifying interdependencies
• Oversee project tasks needed to support the build out of the deployment timelines, processes and tools
• Work with the Program Managers and Application Vendor Deployment Leads and the development team members in planning each release
• Oversee any new project tasks needed to support deployment timelines and methods
• Ensure that the Hertz's release controls are documented and well understood by development Teams and Application Support Teams
• Ensure that the architecture and infrastructure on which the application will be deployed are robust and stable
• Ensure that each application team has a detailed deployment plan that meet’s Hertz standards including a backout plan should anything go wrong during deployment
• Partner with the Organization Change Management team and the Program Managers that sanctioned communications to all stakeholders have been properly prepared and reviewed
• Coordinate with the Program Managers and the Vendor teams to validate that the applications have been correctly packaged before deployment and ensure that all release controls have been satisfied
• Ensure that IT Operations is ready to support Go-live events and Post-Go live support along with the vendor application teams.
• Work with the Vendor teams, Security and IT Operations to deploy the product successfully
• Release the pre-planned communications about the product to all stakeholders
• Conduct a release retrospective with all the development team members that participated in the program to improve the release process and increase program productivity and product quality
Mandatory Requirements
Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
Professional Experience:
• 10 years of experience in system integration
• 10 years of experience planning the development and delivery of complex software products
• Strong background managing the concurrent deployment of multiple SaaS and Cloud hosted applications and infrastructure
• Past experience leading deployments of large highly integrated systems in a global environment
• Ability to work with internal teams and vendors to achieve a common goal
• Strong technical leadership abilities
• Excellent understanding of application release methodologies (including familiarity with ITIL's Release and Deployment Management process)
• Good understanding of product architecture and infrastructure components
• Business acumen and exceptional communication skills
