Position Description
Oversees and manages Field Execution budgets by approving pre-project budgeting; providing oversight and direction for development contracts and agreements; budgeting for fixtures, systems, and staff; preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly expense and budget reports; addressing over budget issues; analyzing budgets to identify solutions to problems; reviewing and approving payments, invoices, expense reports, and change orders; and evaluating consequences of decision making.
Aligns the strategic priorities of the Field Execution division with the direction and strategic initiatives of the broader organization by consulting with Realty leaders to improve and update the corporate five-year plan; collaborating with key stakeholders (for example, Operations, Merchandising, Walmart Technology, Marketing, external construction companies) regarding project set-up; coordinating and managing office programs and initiatives; making strategic decisions based on an analysis of business impacts; removing barriers to collaboration; identifying design flaws in construction and merchandising; ensuring the implementation of operational plans; and fostering innovation.
Oversees contractor selection and management by setting standards for selection; managing spending to be in proper proportion to vendor revenue; ensuring service quality and fees are optimized; and using company policies and direction to incorporate diversity initiatives into plans.
Oversees Field Execution projects (for example, construction and store set-up for new stores, remodels, expansions, and special projects) for a diverse portfolio of properties in assigned region by providing direction to team and overseeing third-party relationships; overseeing budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and coordination of project events and internal and external resources; accurately interpreting building codes; reviewing and resolving escalated issues (for example, scheduling issues, onsite construction issues); leading disaster recovery for stores damaged by hurricanes, fires, tornados, and other natural disasters; overseeing program schedules for completion within approved timelines; overseeing quality assurance programs and guidelines (for example, reviewing out-to-bid readiness, permitting, project completion, construction design standards) to ensure projects are completed on time and inspections are passed; and ensuring team is compliant with documentation requirements for project data and milestone information.
Drives compliance with laws and regulations for construction programs by overseeing acceptable standards of performance for contractors and suspending non-compliant work; ensuring resolution of noncompliance; maintaining certifications; enforcing regulatory standards in company programs (for example, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) refrigerant handling compliance); and providing direction in the application of new or changing initiatives.
Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 3 years experience in construction management, retail management, store planning, engineering, architecture, or related field OR 5 years experience in construction management, retail management, store planning, engineering, architecture, or related field.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
4 years supervisory experience.
8 years experience in construction management, retail management, store planning, engineering, architecture, or related field.
Master s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field.
