About the Team
The International Technology team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, implementation, support, and operations of international systems portfolio of Williams Sonoma brands like Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Mark & Graham & Rejuvenation in multiple channels like e-commerce, stores, franchises and wholesale.
We currently operate company-owned retail stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia and have franchise operated retail stores throughout the Middle East, Mexico, the Philippines, and South Korea. Wholesale partnerships in UK and Ireland support our UK based stores.
Our products are also available to customers through our catalogues and online worldwide.
About the Role
The Director of International Systems will work to deliver strategic and tactical solutions for the International Business. Establish and own the platform vision for International Systems (incl. Company owned, Franchise and Wholesale solutions) to lead and enable IT and business goals. Lead the department and drive the efforts of others in the achievement of the International Strategy. Provide functional/technical direction and management for the analysis, design, integration, testing, and ongoing support of the end-to-end solutions. Drive process change, including programs that improve development efficiency, improve customer experience, drive business value, quality and "time to market" productivity. You will have full personnel responsibility for talent attraction, selection and retention management within the department.
You must be able to manage through influence, drive organizational consensus, and develop and promote a solution vision that is ultimately bought into by the business teams, the WSI enterprise technical team and the broader WSI organization and executives. The ideal candidate must have succeeded in developing and implementing world-class retail solutions for retail companies, with particular success in leading organizations through business solutions and technology initiatives, platform modernizations, and cross-platform integrations. We are looking for candidates who can transcend the typical "business" and "IT" labels to be a company leader. There will be a significant partnership with Global Business Management. You must be able to work independently and in a virtual environment with our Technology partners.

• Be a Visionary and create a roadmap vision for International systems as the business continues to grow. Actively pursue input of key business leaders and incorporates this data into an overall strategy. Provide input into the formulation of the company business system architecture plans, assessing the feasibility of system requests and ensuring the plans support both strategic and near-term business needs.
• Partner and collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants, and leadership to define, support, and report on established service levels.
• Delivery-lead and drive innovation and creative solutions to business challenges. Direct and review the estimation of resource efforts, resource allocations, implementation planning, and rollout system changes in alignment with the strategic needs of the group and the department. Ensure partners/vendors/contractors are leveraged in an appropriate manner.
• Mentor and provide high level management, coaching and mentoring to create an environment and create an environment of learning and accountability.
• Provide Critical Leadership Competencies for Success Visionary Leader, Strategic Capability, Influence, People Development.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
We're excited about you because
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
• 10+ years of leadership experience.
• Expert level knowledge multichannel Retail (including POS, ERP, CRM, eCommerce, etc.) preferably NetSuite.
• Experience across industries in Retail best practices, software design and industry trends
• Experience in developing solutions and unlocks for the business community that may or may not require a technology solve.
• Extensive business technology experience typically gained through 12+ years of partnering with an IT organization in progressively responsible roles. Must be able to partner with executive level management to drive solutions.
• Experience with scalable technology solutions that adjust to cyclical business patterns.
• Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale Retail projects from vision through implementation.
• Prefer experience in a large retail environment. Consulting background is desirable.
• Solid technical understanding and proven ability to leverage technology to meet business objectives.
• Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects, including managing resources across multiple projects to meet goals, delivery timelines and budgetary guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and conceptual skills.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels, and thrive in a cross-functional, evolving business and technical environment.
• Excellent people management skills, including the ability to model integrity and to instill high performance and accountability from the IT team.
• Ability to work independently in an operations environment.
• Ability to work virtually with other organizations
• Ability to travel to other WSI locations domestic or international when needed
