Director, Marine Fuel Trading
Summary:
The successful candidate for the Director, Marine Fuel Trading position will be responsible for the Marine Fuel Supply and Trading activities of Delek US Holdings, Inc. The supply aspect of this position will focus on sourcing the necessary blend components to optimize Delek’s production of residual fuel production. The Trading aspect of the role will focus on trading at market hubs including Beaumont, Houston and the Gulf Coast. This position will also need to develop markets for residual products at the retail, wholesale and export markets. Responsibility will be to develop and execute a strategy for the optimization of marine fuel and residual production of all four refineries from a component and blended value optimization. Additionally, experience in derivatives trading and position management is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Source, develop and manage domestic and international relationships to ensure uninterrupted offtake of residual refinery production.
• Contribute new ideas to reduce costs and improve quality and delivery
• Facilitate new market development, qualification, and implementation, by proactively interacting with Clients, Refining, Transportation, etc.
• Develop risk management strategies to mitigate risk in all trading and supply activities
• Identify new business development initiatives in line with agreed company strategy and a manage initiative from inception to execution.
• Manage contract administration for as needed.
• Manage scheduling as needed
• Support logistics to maximize value for Delek.
• Gather information and conduct investigation and implementation of opportunities for third party processing, storage, and blending
• Develop competitive market intelligence
• Maintain residual related products sourcing database.
• Prepare and present monthly forecasts and sales price variance analysis
• Monitor inventory levels and keep them aligned with corporate targets
• Work with Credit to maximize open line credit limits
• Optimize refinery production slate to maximize value
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. degree)
• 5+ years of residual fuel or related industry experience preferred including commodity trading, refining, procurement, demand planning, sales/marketing and supply chain management
• Global commodity sourcing expertise with knowledge of demand / supply
• Knowledge of market, by-products, and sourcing alternatives
• Ability to make decisions under pressure
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Prior interaction with trading teams
• Strong project management and analytical skills, paying close attention to detail
• A multi-tasker that possess proven time management abilities, and a capacity to work in a time sensitive environment with shifting priorities.
• Ability to build partnerships and work cross functionally
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
• Displays sound business judgment and strong personal integrity
