Job Description
As a Director of BAR, you will provide financial leadership to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) by leading financial planning and analysis for the Information Technology (IT) business area and providing information to enable fact-based decision making. You will also work with the Vice President Finance (VP Finance) to review high-profile reports and assist with strategic projects.
Below are a few examples of the responsibilities for this position:
• participate on the senior leadership teams of the CIO and VP Finance, which includes involvement in strategic planning discussions relating to the operations of the business areas
• lead a team of 10 associates who provide accurate/timely financial reporting and analysis for IT
• collaborate with senior IT leaders to develop operating/capital plans (financial plans)
• monitor variances to the financial plans, reforecast current year results and provide periodic executive summaries to the CIO
• evaluate alternatives in payment terms/structure to minimize cost of IT hardware and software maintenance agreements and monitor financial risk exposure of key suppliers
• participate on a team to review corporate financial statements/disclosures, long-range planning, capital spending requests, pay/benefit change cost analyses, etc. and
• cross-train with other BAR Directors to enhance knowledge of the overall Finance business area and prepare for potential future growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• at least 15 years of relevant business experience, including working for a public accounting firm and serving in a Director of Accounting/Finance or Controller role
• Certified Public Accountant (active or inactive status)
• knowledge of financial planning and analysis
• strong financial and business acumen

• ability to lead, develop and mentor associates
• ability to be persuasive and effectively interact in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Master’s in Business Administration
• 20 or more years of relevant business experience, including working for a public accounting firm and serving in a Director of Accounting/Finance or Controller role for a retail entity
• experience preparing or reviewing financial filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission
• experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of products
Year End Bonus
One month’s pay (pro-rated in the first year) if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
