Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing strategic leadership to the accounts payable organization. This job is focused on leading through a multi-year Source to Pay improvement project, people development, team collaboration, providing exceptional customer service and building strong business partnerships to support North American expenses, store construction, lease payables and inventory payables. This role is also a strategic resource to international offices. As a member of the finance leadership team, this position will also continue to build and develop best practices in all global policies and processes, implement and accelerate continuous improvement efforts while also ensuring internal controls and compliance requirements are met.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Effectively leads a cohesive Accounts Payables function that is an exceptional business partner.
• Develops and executes the strategic execution plan to enable Accounts Payable to support company growth while delivering quality service, executing of all AP processes and adhering to compliance requirements.
• Identifies and communicates clear responsibilities and departmental practices to ensure the achievement of business results.
• Ensures AP leadership team promotes a successful and collaborative environment with a focus on team effectiveness, partner development and career progression.
• Designs, implements and maintains a strong system of internal controls, which includes managing the month-end accounts payable closing process and ensuring accurate and timely presentation of financial information.
• Manages and maintains systems, policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate payments, while maximizing cash flow. Also supports business continuity efforts.
• Builds strong internal and external business relationships, shares knowledge with team and peers throughout finance, and actively contributes to finance goals and objectives.
• Manages multiple cross-functional project teams to achieve strategies. Understands key business requirements and performance measures and executes programs effectively within those criteria.
• Provides subject matter expertise and collaborates on the multi-year, global Source to Pay improvement project.
• Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
• Develops annual department operating plan and quarterly forecast updates.
Summary of Experience
• 10 years of progressive accounting or general management experience in a large, collaborative, dynamic organization including directing a global shared service team.
• 10 years of experience in management in a broad range of accounts payable functions, including expenses, invoices, electronic funds transfers, and disbursements.
• 10 years of experience managing people including setting departmental expectations, managing performance, staffing planning and execution of departmental strategies.
• Experience managing and completing complex, cross-functional projects, including projects involving systems and associated budgets.
• Experience developing global policies and procedures.
• CPA, preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle or another ERP) preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, intermediate skills with Microsoft Access and Word
• Ability to work independently
