Position Summary
The Executive Advisor of the Digital Center of Excellence (COE), will lead the transformation efforts for the Digital team’s transition to agile methodologies for launching and scaling digital experiences. This individual will work to set the direction for building, executing, and sustaining varying agile structures and will lead a small, nimble team comprised of two colleagues focused on training, best practice processes, and resource planning.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead, coach, and manage direct report team members and impact and influence matrixed partners and teams toward shared goals.
2. Architect and lead the strategic planning and implementation of agile software development methodologies for digital programs, products, and features, reprioritizing and adjusting plans in response to new or emerging risks. Includes: owning and driving the development and implementation of normalized and uniform KPI’s, including outcome and efficiency metrics, across digital product teams that will be using varying agile methods of software development, the standardization of progress-reporting and risk-reporting across product development teams, as well as the cadence and format of communications from product development teams to executives and senior stakeholders.
3. Lead and direct agile product teams and stakeholders across multiple sites within our broader Enterprise Digital team. Partner closely with senior executives on the digital team and within business segments to influence, align on and prioritize deployment plans for agile software development methodologies for consumer-facing digital programs, products, and features.
4. Lead the development and documentation of best practices across varying methods of agile software development, including Scrum and XP, and replicate best practices across product development teams using similar software development methodologies.
5. Identify training opportunities for agile software development teams comprised of product managers, engineers, and UX designers, as well as training opportunities to support executive team’s leadership of agile software development teams, making recommendations and overseeing the contracting, coordination, and implementation of training.
Travel up to 20% may be required.
Required Qualifications
3 years experience using or applying agile methodologies, such as Scrum, XP, and SAFe, to software development (digital software development preferred).
3 years leading a team of direct reports.
3 years project management and/or product development experience.
3 years of experience working with backlog management and product management tools such as Jira, Trello, CA Agile, TFS
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority in order to achieve a broad range of goals for developing, implementing and adhering to processes and best practices.
Analytics skills needed to lead the development of normalized metrics across different agile teams.
