Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director of Corporate Compliance is responsible for the development and implementation of programs, policies, and practices to ensure all business units comply with company policies and federal, state and local laws.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
30%- In partnership with Legal and SSC Corporate Compliance, develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive compliance program to maintain the company's compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements Company policies
20%- Create, write and manage all internal procedures and documentation to maintain compliance with regulations, contractual obligations and Company policies
20%- Partner with key business leaders including Legal, SSC Corporate Compliance, Internal Audit to identify compliance requirements and areas of potential vulnerability and risk. Document, enhance and provide recommendations for internal controls
10%- Partner with Legal to develop an inventory of regulatory requirements and assess effectiveness of mitigating compliance initiatives.
10%- Manage the development and oversight of all internal compliance-training programs. Direct annual compliance certifications
10%- Investigate and respond to alleged violations of Business Code of Conduct and Ethics or other Company policies
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to CEO, SVP Interline Brands.
This position has 1-4 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:8 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of six years in a Compliance or risk management role
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of partners across the enterprise to enhance compliance
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies to include risk assessment
• Previous management experience and ability to maintain confidentiality
• JD, CCMP, CRCP, CRCMP or comparable preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills
• Ability to develop strong internal/external relationships and interact effectively with all levels in the organization
• Must be able to interact cross- functionally and drive both business and technical discussions
• Strong project management skills, to include managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects and reporting progress and risks
• Ability to act as a clearinghouse for compliance lessons learned and best practices
• Experience with building new business processes including managing internal change
