Overview
The Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and executing a strategy to attract top talent to Sprouts Farmers Market so that we may provide a differentiated customer experience for our guests. This role will continue to drive the team member value proposition and employer brand to ensure Sprouts is an employer of choice in a dynamic and competitive employment market. The Director, Talent Acquisition will be instrumental in improving the candidate experience and supporting our stores teams as well as the store support and DC locations to enable a seamless and effective hiring process.
This role will oversee a team of both remote and on-site Talent Advisors located in the Store Support office. The Director, TA has responsibility for effectively and efficiently staffing open roles within the organization through proactive sourcing efforts and focused staffing plans for both stores and the store support office. This role will also have oversight to new store hiring and sourcing efforts for the Sprouts field organization. This position will have budgetary oversight. This position is critical to overall candidate experience, and will partner closely with the HR Advisor team, compensation, and the Hiring Managers within the organization.
This position reports to the Sr. Director, Talent Acquisition & Human Resources. This role will have four direct reports: Manager - Store Support Talent Acquisition, Division Talent Acquisition Leader – West, Division Talent Acquisition Leader – Central & East, and Manager - New Store and Military Hiring.
Essential Functions
Field Talent Acquisition
• Ensure a diverse and inclusive talent acquisition process to attract, retain and engage top talent at Sprouts to enable a cohesive culture
• Refine strategy to support management recruiting efforts for Sprouts store locations.
• Review, develop and execute tools to ensure optimal staffing for stores across the enterprise.
• Lead efforts to ensure an outstanding candidate experience in our stores and maintain Sprouts as an employer of choice.
• Drive employer branding efforts both in store and through digital marketing efforts.
• Develop a robust talent pipeline for stores hiring through relevant and effective sourcing strategies.
• Manage and select effective job boards and tools to fill the candidate pipeline and ensure a high ROI on selected sources.
• Provide outstanding customer service to Field Leadership to include, but not limited to, SVP Field Operations, Regional Director Teams, Store Support Field Leadership, and Store Leaders.
Store Support Talent Acquisition
• Manages Store Support recruitment function and oversees a team of recruiters that recruit, screen, and interview individuals to fill organizational roles for store support.
• Consults with hiring managers to understand roles to be filled and profiles of ideal candidates for our store support teams.
• Reviews and assesses applicant’s education, experience, training, and other qualifications.
• Verifies employment eligibility, gathers necessary paperwork, and performs reference and background checks.
New Store & Military Hiring
• Oversight for new store hiring program for Sprouts new store openings to ensure new stores open with the right talent in the right place.
• Manage third party vendor for support on team member recruiting for new stores.
• Lead, coach and develop the new store hiring team to deliver to opening hiring numbers.
• Attend new market job fairs where appropriate.
• Inform budget for new store hiring events.
• Oversight for sourcing avenues and ensure candidate flow for both management and store hires.
• Accountable for hiring staff to meet 100% of open positions prior to new store grand opening.
• Lead military recruitment initiative in partnership with the Military Recruiting Lead and the third party RPO.
• Remove obstacles and troubleshoot in markets where employment is tight and traditional sourcing methods are not enough to fill the opening numbers required.
Sourcing & Recruiting Team Management
• Develop and maintain and short and long term strategy to support hiring to enable critical business initiatives.
• Approves requests for store hiring events with through understanding of vacancy and additional spend required in partnership.
• Confers with hiring managers to make hiring recommendations.
• Develop, coach and manage Team Member Recruiters and New Store Talent Acquisition team through regular check-ins, region visits and coaching/ feedback.
• Manage budget and ensure spend for travel, cluster events and other related expenses are within budget forecast.
• Negotiate and manage new and renewal contract process.
• Responsible for effective communication across the Talent team, available as a resource and builds partnership with HR team.
• Work closely with HR Advisor teams, total rewards and legal teams to ensure an effective, flexible and nimble recruiting process.
• Continued development of team analytics and metrics to measure both team and resource effectiveness.
• Lead technology strategy for talent acquisition team to include applicant tracking system efficiencies, digital connectivity and social recruiting efforts.
• Ensure compliance with employment hiring requirements for all location.
• Ensure strong collaboration with marketing, PR, communications and other cross functional partners.
• Manages large scale projects aligned to Talent Acquisition initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
• 7+ years of talent acquisition experience in a retail or grocery environment required
• Understanding of vendor relationships, negotiations, and experience working with RPOs
• Demonstrated ability to lead change in a dynamic environment
• Deep understanding of sourcing solutions to build a robust candidate pipeline in varied fields
• Ability to leads, coach and develop a large remote team
• Experience with team selection, departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change
• Proven ability to lead through change and work closely with cross - functional partners
• Ability to travel to stores as required
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
