Position Summary

As Sr. Director, Strategy-Front Store Category Marketing, you are responsible for inspiring people to choose CVS Pharmacy for their everyday needs. You are accountable for winning share of natural shopping moments, occasions, and seasons. By unlocking customer insights, you will develop relevant, innovative and motivating marketing strategies to drive awareness, trips to, and increased sales of our products and services in the retail front store, particularly within the Health and Beauty Categories. You will be on the forefront of innovative marketing channels and technology that enable us to reach the consumer in more contextually relevant places.
Primary Role and Responsibility:
• Lead the development of marketing strategies to impact and influence our customers’ attitudes, behaviors, and choices to meet and exceed budgeted impact and business goals
• Collaborate with marketing disciplines to design and develop integrated marketing and communications plans to drive the business with measurable and attributable impact from marketing efforts
• Develop short and long term plans to drive the business and meet our aggressive growth plans
• Lead the team to unlock ever-smarter, more targeted and impactful marketing, using data, technology, and new media solutions in marketing plans
• Use data and insights to drive strategic and tactical marketing decisions and optimizations, along with demonstrating accountability to business impact
• Lead, coach, guide, and motivate a team of colleagues performing related work with a clear statement of goals and support in building toward those goals
• Take a leadership role in organizing project teams, supporting collaboration and innovation, developing plans for both internal and cross-functional projects and initiatives
• Lead teams that are driving e-commerce growth, in-store marketing experience and segmented consumer strategies – when/where a like-minded consumer group is large enough to warrant a variation of the digital or in-store shopper experience
• Use data and insights to drive strategic and tactical marketing decisions and optimizations, and demonstrate accountability to business impact
• Proactively build and maintain relationships with key partners and executives, supporting collaboration, connecting ideas and consulting on marketing opportunities and coordination in achieving agreed-upon priorities
Required Qualifications
• 10-15 years minimum of business experience with a deep understanding of marketing and marketing functions
• 5 or more years’ experience leading a team either directly or cross functionally
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within a large matrixed corporate environment in marketing health care or other highly regulated industry
• Experience working in Retail/CPG/ecommerce industry working on joint marketing programs
• Proficient use of key financial metrics/ratios to evaluate business cases
• Appreciation of end-to-end consumer in-store and digital commerce (e.g. from advertisement to landing environment to transaction experience)
• Acute understanding of marketing measurement and technology
• Working knowledge of available marketing channels both online and offline
• Developed breakthrough marketing plans that build the business and brand
• Proven ability evaluating and elevating creative and media to inspire consumers to act
• Consistent track record of growing and developing a high performing teams
• Shown ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights
• Ability to represent the voice of the customer in strategic business discussions
• Ambitious mindset
• Understanding of the Front Store lines of business (e.g., category management, merchant)
Education
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
