Position Title: Director Aviation
Position Location: Salisbury, NC
Position Summary:
Responsibilities of the aviation department director can be divided into two categories: administrative and operational. With significant Focus on Transporting executives in a timely and safe manner, assuring every precaution is used to be as effective and efficient as possible. While responsible for Developing metrics, department Policies, Quality Control Procedures and Service Guidelines. Provide leadership, Coaching and customer service objectives for the team. Lead and motivate high performance team to deliver excellent technical and operational support with a High degree of customer satisfaction.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
> Institute Policies and Procedures as Necessary
> Develop and institute department policies and procedures, including basic company policies, procedures and objectives into department functions.
> Maintain an operations policy manual to include flight, maintenance and pertinent company policies.
> Establish and maintain an active aviation safety program.
> Establish scheduling policies and procedures that provide effective control and management.
> Prepare annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, outside services, personnel, training, capital expenses and reserves.
> Monitor an operating budget on a monthly, quarterly, or semiannual basis, depending on company procedure.
> Report deviations between estimated expenditures and actual costs to higher management with appropriate explanation according to company procedure.
> Establish programs for pilots and maintenance technicians, including proficiency reviews, initial training, recurrent training and upgrade training.
> Analyze various training sources, which could include aircraft training flights, simulator training, enroute flight checks, ground school training and prepackaged learning courses.
> Anticipate the need for upgrade training to meet additional or replacement personnel needs.
> Establish measures of effectiveness and efficiency for the department.
> Establish and maintain records as required by the FARs, manufacturers, and company policies.
> Ensure that department personnel are thoroughly familiar and comply with company policies, appropriate FARs and pertinent operating manuals, practices and publications.
> Schedule and establish criteria for technical audits of the aircraft and maintenance operations.
> Report results of a technical audit to immediate superiors with an explanation of deficiencies found and corrective action taken.
> Prepare short and long range plans that include corporate and departmental objectives.
> Develop department personnel to realize their full potential.
> Provide leadership and direction to flight and maintenance personnel to ensure personal performance and competence.
> Evaluate department personnel periodically to ensure superior levels of performance.
> Establish standards and limitations to ensure safe and efficient department operations.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
> Bachelor's Degree or equivalent aviation experience
> 3+ years experience with general aviation flight departments
> ATP (airline transport pilot rating)
> Total flight time of 3000 hour minimum
> 2000 hours PIC
