Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the direct marketing of an extensive line of chimney and hearth products by initiating sales telephone calls to business prospects and accounts via mailing lists generated by the Marketing Department and catalog requests. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for building business success by identifying, qualifying and selling prospects. Moreover, the Senior Account Executive will take the lead on managing relationships with high profile accounts, mentoring existing and newly recruited inside sales team members, etc.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Generate new accounts by selling to a targeted list of prospects.
• Growing an existing account base. The goal with this account group is to further penetrate the account by increasing orders of products they already purchase, and to sell new products into the account.
• Generating new orders from inactive accounts.
• Must be able to meet monthly sales quota and daily call time requirements.
• Seek and grow opportunities to increase business and account base by qualifying and opening new business accounts utilizing sales techniques to cross sell, up-sell, and provide professional customer service.
• Responsible for the sales and service of existing account base/territory, prospecting for new accounts; apply training (sales techniques, computer screens, product knowledge) to create revenue, meet quota and earn monthly commission. Will build relationships with customers and keep them abreast of new products and services.
• For each phone call made or received, utilize appropriate predesigned computer screen to document and profile the customer account. This is a very important task required to efficiently and professionally service the accounts and maintain a history profile of what was discussed with the customer.
• Maintain and develop good customer relationships. Continuously strive to develop and maintain customer rapport and satisfaction learn and apply new product knowledge to enhance sales and personal professionalism.
• Gather competitive information and other market trends, interact with other departments (Customer Service, Marketing, Purchasing/Inventory Control, Credit, Quality Assurance) and national distribution centers to resolve customer service
NATURE AND SCOPE
• Reports to the Regional Sales Manager. No direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
• Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Travel:
Over night travel will be less than 5%to 10%
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:5-7years
