POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide financial expertise and guidance to the Williams-Sonoma Supply Chain, Transportation and Distribution networks in all areas of financial management including developing strategic plans, the annual operating budget, on-going monthly financial forecasting and month-end close. This critical role will help drive financial processes, tools, analysis, acumen and metrics that support the business objectives and will be a key business partner to functional leaders within the supply chain organization. This position requires frequent interaction with all levels of the organization and high degree of business and financial acumen.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
• Provide leadership and support for transportation and the distribution centers' budget, forecast and actual results and reporting.
• Lead the audit, balance sheet and inventory reconciliation process on behalf of transportation and distribution center finance to ensure compliance and consistency of processes and procedures.
• Coordinating, consolidating, and preparing the monthly operating review presentation for the leadership team - which includes: results analysis, forecasting, and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Administering detailed annual/monthly budgets for each individual supply chain business unit, to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place, identify areas that are not in compliance and establish and implement corrective action.
• Coordinating all global supply chain functions budget requirements and consolidating for review with Executive Management to ensure that the global supply initiatives are optimized to achieve the company's overall growth targets.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of business risks and opportunities. Develop forward looking predictive models to support the monitoring and forecasting of the business.
• Initiate enhancements and quality improvements to accounting, reporting and budgeting processes.
• Lead a high-performance team through strong coaching, training and direction, along with writing and delivering annual performance evaluations while developing competitive benchmark analysis.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required.
• A minimum of 7-10 years progressively responsible experience in the areas of financial analysis, planning and accounting.
• Must have significant understanding and strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Retail, manufacturing, consumer goods or supply chain distribution industry corporate experience.
• Solid level of proficiency utilizing Excel, Access and PowerPoint, and experience with budgeting/accounting systems such as Oracle.
• Leadership experience with strong analytical, consulting, problem-solving and conceptual skills with the ability to influence others.
• Ability to build strong relationships and partner with various levels of management.
• Highly motivated, strong sense of urgency and track record of getting results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• An accomplished leader of people and experienced project manager.
• A high degree of professional maturity and intellectual rigor
• Financial leadership experience in large, complex and dynamic business environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting; or a MBA with a concentration in Finance is highly preferred.
• CPA with 3-5 years of experience in public accounting
• 10-15 years progressively responsible experience in the areas of financial analysis, strategic planning, budgeting and accounting.
• Strong matrix management, teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels, and thrive in a cross-functional, evolving business and technical environment.
• Experience in leading a finance team in a distribution center or manufacturing environment.
