Position Summary
With a shared purpose to help people on their path to better health, the Director, Retail Pharmacy Professional Practice will lead a critical agenda that includes both the evolution of industry leading controlled substance monitoring and intervention programs across a fleet of 9,700+ community pharmacy locations and our company’s work in our communities to support prevention of controlled substance misuse and abuse. As such, this key role will directly impact the mitigation of $150M+ of financial, regulatory and reputational risk for the company and deliver best in class results.
The Director Retail Pharmacy Professional Practice will collaborate with various leaders across the Enterprise to help inform strategy development, prioritization of efforts, and formulation of specific work plans and projects to execute across the retail pharmacy chain. This individual must be able to effectively persuade and influence across multiple levels of leadership using facts and well-reasoned cases. The ability to build consensus and cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential. As such, the Director will have the ability to seamlessly adapt their influence and communication style to appropriately fit each audience and business situation. The incumbent will routinely interact and work with peers and senior leaders in Retail Field Leadership, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Risk Management, Payer Relations, Human Resources, and Government Affairs.
As the leader of a large team, the Director, CVS Retail Pharmacy Professional Practice must be able to engage and inspire their team and others to effectively and efficiently meet or exceed all performance goals and objectives set forth as part of the team’s agenda. The individual must have a passion for managing and developing high performing teams. This position is responsible for selecting, organizing, and motivating colleagues to work together individually and collaboratively. The individual must be dedicated to developing their talent pipeline.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Direct and set priorities for a team with multiple varying agendas. Oversee day-to-day execution of programs and communicate progress and results to Sr. Leaders and other key stakeholders
2. Lead the strategic planning process to develop multi-year roadmap for program/capability development, system enhancement, training, and cultural influence to support on-going compliance to controlled substance laws and regulations
3. Provide thought leadership on evolving industry and regulatory trends to identify emergent areas of risk; translate ideation to design of industry leading innovative tactics to address and mitigate these risks
4. Frame new business opportunities/ programs, structure analytics, develop insights, present recommendations and lead or facilitate business case development
This role will be based in our Woonsocket, RI office. You must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

* Highly motivated individual to work in an extremely fast paced environment both individually and with a team.

Education
*Bachelor's degree required
*Degree in Pharmacy (Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy) preferred.
