Position Summary
The Senior Director of Workforce Management (WFM) will lead a multi-disciplinary team to oversee the continued refinement, optimization, planning and management of labor models and labor utilization for our Pharmacy, Front Store and Long Term Care businesses. This will require identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and leading pilot programs to identify new and innovative ways to increase the ROI of our labor utilization. This team will be responsible for managing the ongoing financial planning and budgeting processes for our $6B+ labor spend, managing and evolving our workforce management tools and programs, and leading process innovation to overhaul how CVS/pharmacy manages labor. This leader will be responsible for evolving our staffing and scheduling processes to support the needs of the business and support best in class service.
The successful candidate will need to identify and set priorities across projects, financial planning, strategic assessments, implementations, system updates, and field/store support. Examples of the type of work the team will need to lead include:
• Maintaining labor models to reflect recent changes in the business using industry-best practices
• Implementing new protocols for assessing business cases that involve retail labor
• Enhancing tools and processes around scheduling and staffing and roster management.
• Leading the annual labor budgeting process for Front Store, Pharmacy and LTC businesses
You will need to possess a unique combination of Operations, Strategy, Analytical, and Financial planning competencies. You should have excellent communication skills – both written and oral – to be able to develop and deliver project and financial updates to a wide variety of audiences, including: Senior Executives, Senior Field Leadership, Store level employees, and peer groups. Finally, you must have excellent management skills – being able to build, develop, and lead a high-performing team. Demonstrating a consistent track record of delivering results will lead to opportunities to pursue various career advancement opportunities within any of CVS Health’s growing business units.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing teams with either a strong understanding and knowledge of CVS Health's Retail Operations or a background in Workforce Management within a retail setting.
5-8 years of related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
1. 10-15 years of cumulative experience and Masters degree preferred
2. Innovation mindset leveraged to bring forth new and different solutions and challenge the status quo
3. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
4. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
5. Experience developing and implementing process improvements and/or innovation Experience developing and communicating strategic and tactical recommendations
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed and meeting deadlines
7. Ability to produce results by working within established timeframes, deadlines, and understanding potential barriers and next steps
8. Ability to influence officers across the company
9. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment
10. Can drive long-term strategies while delivering on near-term objectives
Education
Bachelors Degree required with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related experience
