Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking a Business Development Director to join the Optical Health Services team that has been tasked with identifying and executing multi-billion dollars of growth over the next 3-5 years.
This specific role would have end-to-end responsibility for key workstream(s) within our Optical business starting from design through to implementation. The position is expected to provide excellent exposure to management across CVS’s business as well as ongoing professional development. This role would suit someone a strong interest in health care, a robust strategic background and a real passion for delivering results.
As the Business Development Director, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team and will have responsibility for building and executing both short and long term strategies to grow the optical business across retail, online and our enterprise. You demonstrate cross functional engagement, best proven by the individual’s ability to gain credibility with team members and senior management.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Build a deep understanding of the optical market and CVS’ goals with a focus on growth
• Lead the identification, development, and delivery of new products and services
• Own relationships with suppliers and external and internal partners to define and deliver strategic growth plans
• Develop and maintain a strategic review process to ensure the business is properly resourced to meet near term goals as well as long term growth and competitiveness
• Work reciprocally with business and support teams across the organization to represent the voice of optical and health services to ensure Enterprise alignment and identification of alliances
• Partner closely with counterparts on the vision care and Home Health Care teams to streamline efforts and build consistency across health services
• Craft materials for management and executive committees up to an including the Board of Directors
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of business development and/or consulting experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Structured and Logical Thinking: dissect a problem into an organized approach and execution
- Analytical Rigor: run and manage highly complicated quantitative analysis in a defect-free manner. Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel is essential to this role
- Powerful Communication: the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper. Deep understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint is critical to this role
- Cross-functional engagement: Highly developed relationship-building skills to nurture effective working relations
- New Product Development: Obtain agreement for new products and/or services with validated results
- Strong financial acumen: comfort with numbers, analyses and a deep understanding of retail P&L
Education
Bachelor's degree; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
