Responsibilities
The Business Solutions Sales Director position is responsible for driving revenue for The Container Store’s business-to-business (B2B) channel. This highly motivated, experienced sales management professional attains quarterly and annual sales targets and establishes strategic business relations. This position is charged with managing both internal and external sales and sales support teams, setting the strategic direction for the B2B website, partnering with Marketing to optimize media and messaging, and developing accurate financial forecasts. The Business Solutions Sales Director partners with the Business Solutions General Manager to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and on budget to achieve both revenue and profit expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Establishes monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals by territory and line of business
• Provides leadership in planning, implementing and managing sales policies, procedures and strategies to achieve goals
• Maintains inside sales and sales support staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
• Supports the selection, management, growth and productivity of independent contractors and companies who serve as outside sales reps
• Develops all planning, budgeting, pipeline and other relevant reporting for the Business Solutions Department
• Supports the creation and evaluation of compensation programs for inside and outside sales
• Partners with Marketing to create the right content and collateral to connect with target customers
• Analyzes industry and business trends to identify opportunities that will lead to increased sales and profitability, as well as potential risks that could create headwinds for the business
• Directs managers to maintain a high level of customer service throughout all sales channels
• Maintains knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, company policies and procedures

Qualifications
• College degree preferred
• 8+ years’ experience running a sales management operation that includes both employees and outside rep groups
• Experience with and understanding of processes and sales techniques used in the Multi-Family and Single-Family Homebuilding industries
• Ability to participate in executive meetings and set forth plans to achieve sales growth, marketing objectives, sales headcount planning, etc.
• Desire and experience co-selling with Reps and Partners as needed
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Experience with budgeting, P&L responsibilities and expense management
• Salesforce experience a plus
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
• Ability to travel 30% a year, based on the business needs
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
• Knowledge of industry and passion for following trends in the industry
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
• Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
• Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
• Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
• Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process information
