Overview
Analyze the financial information of the entire organization and identify opportunities for savings and profit. Utilize and develop financial analysis tools to perform efficient company-wide monthly variance analysis. Identify and problem solve data issues related to the accuracy of the financial information. Support Business Planning & Client Finance team as needed.
Responsibilities
• Analyze and identify trends in the ongoing operational data for the business to deliver profit to the company and work with ops team to implement change.
• Validate revenue accruals, payroll %'s and perform other analytics to assist with monthly close.
• Identify and investigate significant budget variances for all operating divisions.
• Perform statistical analysis on all financial data to identify significant outliers.
• Perform various analytical projects in support of VP, BP & CF and CFO
• Find unique identifiers across disparate data sets to link up tables and pull in related information for analysis.
• Determine the material root causes of a payroll percentage variance for an operating division based on all sources of data.
• Communicate complex financial information and large data sets to various audiences in a time efficient manner.
• Determine the relevant topics and variances to focus on for monthly financial close analysis.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Degree in Accounting to understand the structure and methodology of recording financial data according to GAAP; 8+ years
Other Functions: Expert Excel skills to efficiently manipulate massive data sets and to summarize the relevant data within pivot tables for analysis; Understanding of SQL coding and the ability to create and modify SQL code for retrieving relevant data; Understanding of statistical analysis to apply z-score calculations against broad data sets to identify outliers each month (outliers as significant variances from normal run rates for AP, AR, GL, Revenue entries); Deep understanding of Hyperion ESSBASE software tool to retrieve P&L level financial data across the organization in an efficient manner; Understanding of how legacy and enterprise systems tie together for all execution data (to drive billing and payroll expense) and the related systems involved in generating revenue each month.

Work environment: Office environment; Occasional travel required for M&A due diligence.
Physical Demands: Office – sitting, typing, answering calls, walking to meetings, etc.
Language Skills: English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
