Responsibilities
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Leader (Director level) to grow and manage innovative technology solutions and services for internal and external customers of ARMS Business Solutions, a newly created Software-as-a-Service organization. Reporting to the VP- ABS, this dynamic IT leader will drive the technology strategy for the products including software engineering, architecture, infrastructure services, and security. This is an ideal opportunity for a tech leader who thrives and excels in a fast-paced, high growth IT environment that can align an engineering and delivery process to meet the needs of our rapidly growing customer base. This opportunity will require someone with strong leadership skills to develop their team, ensure good technology practices are created along with a solid operational environment.
Overall Responsibilities:
As the Technology Leader/Director – ABS, you are responsible for crafting and executing a vision and strategy that creates sustainable solutions and services for multiple software products running in the ABS portfolio. You will also have responsibility for creating and fostering strong technical partnerships with third-party vendors who supply services to these solutions. You will need to balance inputs from product management to develop new feature sets, while being proactive in creating an innovative technology strategy that supports a diverse customer base. To do so, you will employ strong architecture oversight, and be accountable to the development and delivery of a comprehensive SaaS product suite across a global customer base. You will partner closely with ABS business leaders to understand the ever-changing market landscape and new business opportunities and will be responsible for establishing a software vision and architecture to advance the business.
The successful candidate will be an integrator of people, processes and technology, a visionary thought leader, a problem solver, and an effective consultant who possesses a solid domain competency in the field of software development and operational support. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a highly creative, innovative, solutions-oriented approach to enhance the partnership and service orientation standards embodied by Enterprise Holdings. Your preferred mode of response and operation is flexible, collaborative, with enough structure and discipline to meet delivery expectations and always have an eye on customer service and exceeding those expectations.
This role sits in Madison, WI, with frequent travel initially to St. Louis, MO and later to other development locations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops the strategy and priorities for investments in IT solutions in collaboration with senior leadership
• Plans, organizes, and leads the activities and staff involved in the design, development, and deployment of architecture and engineering for software applications, infrastructure services, and security
• Balances business and technology considerations in a dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are valued, and results are required
• Effectively leads remote teams to function at high levels of collaboration, teamwork with value added outputs that map to the overall company’s goals
• Prepares operational forecasts and staffing/budget requirements; able to set clear financial goals for the organization consistent with senior leadership expectations and current business conditions
• Works with company leaders in reviewing information, systems and processes to identify security and privacy related vulnerabilities and/or improvements, educating stakeholders and providing risk evaluations and/or recommendations to leadership
• Acquires and manages talent effectively and leads others in doing the same, including: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, career planning/support, training, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews; capable of building effective secondary leadership
• Leads the definition and management of quality standards for products and services; includes establishing and monitoring key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement
• Leads efforts to identify opportunities for task automation, process improvements, and enhancements that result in increased quality, efficiencies, and ROI
• Consults with senior leadership regarding emerging technologies and trends in long-range division planning concerning new or projected areas of research and advancements
• Protects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities; follows security policies and procedures; continuously identifies and recommends opportunities for improving security
• Establishes a principled style of leadership consistent with the values of the company
• Manages assessment and/or oversight of strategic partner relationships
• Creates and leads an environment that promotes ethics, integrity, and operational excellence

Qualifications
Required:
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
• 10+ years’ experience successful leadership of geographically dispersed and global IT teams in a large, complex corporate environment
• 7+ years of experience leading high performing leaders of all levels
• Proven change leader with experience leading large teams (80+ team members and growing) through complex change initiatives focused on people, process and/or technology
• Proven success driving results and performance in a technology or SaaS organization
• Depth of market exposure from SMB to Enterprise and Global
• Proven success delivering first generation solutions to internal and external customers, scaling rapidly to meet customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to effectively influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
• Exhibited strength in making final decisions on administrative and/or operational matters ensuring effective achievement of objectives
• Able to operate in highly autonomous fashion repeatedly exercising exceptional, independent judgment balancing strategic and tactical planning
• Depth in vendor management including consideration, selection, and ongoing relationship management
• Superb relationship management skills, specifically around managing conflict and resistance to change with the ability to create a non-adversarial atmosphere and be viewed as a partner
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively convey complex information in a manner that is easily understood and actionable
• Demonstrate flexibility and agility related to critical thinking and making decisions with complex considerations as it relates to business implications
• Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
• Frequent travel across North America and Europe required
• Role sits in Madison
Preferred:
• Education and/or work experience: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field; or combined work and educational background
• Past experience successfully developing and launching software products to market
