Position Description
This position is responsible for producing creative executions that support CarMax marketing initiatives. Their role is to seek out innovative ways to communicate our messages while upholding a consistent CarMax brand image across all of our materials. This position reports directly to a Manager on the Marketing Creative team.
Position Requirements
• Interpret strategic direction and develop clear and consistent creative designs and layouts that support the objectives and goals for CarMax marketing initiatives.
• Work with Creative Managers and Directors to review concepts and produce multiple executions that maintain consistent CarMax brand messages.
• Ensure that materials produced support the vision and values of the Marketing plan, and the overall CarMax brand.
• Prepare creative artwork for production.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and creative trends by attending relevant conferences and continuous education courses
• Meet with Directors, Managers, Designers, and Copywriters to develop standards for creative ideas and concepts that support CarMax Marketing objectives and goals. Active participation in team meetings and client meetings.
• Partner with Creative Manager, Creative Director and Clients to receive and discuss design feedback, and incorporate feedback as necessary.
• Partner with other Marketing and Advertising team members to coordinate consistency across different mediums and to facilitate completion of projects within established schedules and guidelines.
• Present creative solutions to clients and other vested stakeholders.
• Discuss and explain rationale for presented artwork.
• Incorporate client feedback and re-present as needed.
• Lead installations of creative materials in the stores.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to understand strategic goals and develop Creative solutions to support them.

• Ability to resolve customer service issues in a positive and professional manner
• Strong knowledge of graphic design including typography, color, concept, and layout.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Four year college degree (Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communication, Graphic Design) strongly preferred, but not required
• Four to eight years of Creative design experience in a Creative agency or in-house Creative department
• Experience working with clients in a Creative environment
• Must be proficient in the use of Apple OS X and design software (Adobe Creative Suite)
