Requirements
Job Title: Director, Vendor Marketing Partnerships
Do you love music and have a passion for the design, presentation, development and implementation of programs and activities with our Musical Instrument Vendors? We are looking for a director to bring strategy, leadership, relationship development and vision to our vendor marketing efforts. The Director, Vendor Marketing Partnerships oversees the Vendor Coop Marketing department and is responsible for managing marketing across all Guitar Center brands and properties on behalf of our vendors for their paid-for vendor campaigns.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
• Develop great marketing vehicles, leverage existing internal channels and seek out new opportunities to provide unique and compelling paid marketing opportunities to our vendors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our existing vendors and develop new vendor relationships.
• Leverage your marketing expertise to consult, ideate and direct vendors to best support their brands, offerings and selected products utilizing our vehicles.
• Leverage your marketing and media knowledge to demonstrate, pitch and present our audience size, consumer demos, reach and capability of our marketing channels to vendors for their paid advertising.
• Leverage your marketing expertise to aid vendors in creative direction development and ads to support their products in our channels.
• Increase overall vendor contributions through development of innovative and unique ideas for their participation.
• Develop reporting on delivery of paid activities for vendors post event
• Consistently forecast and deliver on company financial plan commitments on a monthly, quarterly and fiscal year basis
• Develop and implement strategic action plans to accelerate the achievement of long and short-term strategic business objectives resulting in greater revenue for the department
• Build productive working relationships with marketing and creative counterparts, particularly as it relates to the planning, scheduling and execution of vendor marketing plans
• Establish and foster productive working relationships with all internal support functions, particularly Merchandising, Inventory Management, E-commerce and Finance
• Measure and report on various KPIs and the overall health of the department and implementation of vendor marketing plans
• Monitor budgets for Cooperative Marketing department
• Regular reporting to leadership and other stakeholders
• Manage a team of Managers and Specialists in support of the overall department goals
• Additional duties as assigned.
To join our band you'll need the following experience:
• Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Marketing
• 10 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience), specifically in managing in a multi-channel marketing or marketing agency environment
• 5 years of experience managing teams
• Good understanding of the retail environment
